Intracellular calcium signalling
Topics to be covered
The main aspect of Ca2+ signalling will be discussed
with particular reference to the versatility of the signalling system
and how it can be adapted to control many different cellular processes.
This information will then be applied to various aspects of Ca2+
homeostasis such as the release of PTH and osteoclastogensis.
Educational goals
After attending this Meet the Professor session, participants
will be expected to:
- understand the importance of having a robust working hypothesis
to guide research;
- understand how to ask the right questions.
Target audience
Research students and postdocs.
Teaching methods
The main approach will be to involve participants by focusing the
discussion on their own research problems and guiding the discussion
so that they can begin to see how the new information may help in
their research planning.
