‘Prague – the golden city’
The city of 100 spires, “Golden Prague” is
a jewel in the heart of the new Europe. Culture, tradition and a lively
atmosphere present
themselves in beautifully restored cultural monuments and palaces. The
awe-inspiring panorama of the castle and St Vitus Cathedral capture the
heart of every visitor, and a walk across Charles Bridge is a must.
We have put together a number of tours for accompanying
persons through which we hope to convey the rich culture of this beautiful
city and its
environs.
Please note that tours will be confirmed only if a minimum of 30 participants
is met. Full refunds will be given if a tour is cancelled due to insufficient
numbers.
Full refunds will also be given in the event of cancellation by the
participant if written notice is received by MCI prior to 29 March 2006.
For cancellation after that date no refund will be made.
Other excursions will be available on request at the tours
desk at the Congress Centre.

OLD TOWN'S TREASURES (half day tour)
The heart of Prague was built over 1100 years
ago and this tour will familiarize you with the most impressive sights
of the Old Town, including the Old Town Square with its Town Hall and
the world-famous Astronomical Clock dating back to the beginning of
the 15th century. Just few steps from the square there is the famous
business street Na Prikope, dominated by the Powder Tower, and Wenceslas
Square. The tour will also include a visit to the Jewish quarter and
Synagogue, and a walk across the Charles Bridge, built in 1357.

MEDIEVAL SOUL OF PRAGUE CASTLE (half day tour)
First stop will be the Strahov monastery with its
National Library. From the Monastery terrace you can enjoy the outstanding
views over Prague before continuing on to Loreto church, an exact copy
of the original Santa Casa in Italy.
Walking through the narrow streets, you will pass many medieval palaces, before
reaching Prague Castle, the largest castle complex in Europe, and over 1000
years old. You will visit St Vitus Cathedral and the Royal Palace, before enjoying
some time at leisure at the romantic Golden Lane, famous for its little houses
and shops.

ČESKÝ KRUMLOV (full day excursion)
This full-day tour will take you through the fantastic
scenery of Southern Bohemia to the mediaeval town of Český Krumlov,
on the bank of Vltava River. The town has still retained its medieval
character thanks to its narrow lanes and many picturesque historical
buildings, which wre already mentioned in historical sources in the
13th century. The castle of Český Krumlov is the 2nd biggest
castle in Bohemia after Prague Castle.

ART NOUVEAU IN PRAGUE (half day tour)
Much of Prague is characterized by the Art Nouveau
style, which appeared in Paris in the late 1880s. You will discover
the work of the great Czech artist, Alfons Mucha, who was well known
throughout Europe and especially in France. You will visit the museum
dedicated to his work, Mucha House, and Municipal House, Prague’s
most prominent Art Nouveau building which stands on the site of the
former Royal Court Palace. The interior of Municipal House is decorated
with works by famous Czech artists of the early 20th century.
