Educational goals

• understand the basic sciences related to inflammation and bone: role of pro-inflammatory cytokines and the RANKL/RANK/OPG system;
• illustration in two clinical settings: Crohn's disease and rheumatoid arthritis (RA);
• therapeutic issues: What are the hopes for the new biologics?

Target audience

Basic scientists interested in inflammation and/or the RANKL/RANK/OPG system. Clinicians involved in secondary osteoporosis and in particular in bone loss associated with inflammatory diseases (such as RA or Crohn's).
 

Session divided into 3 sections, each followed by a 10 minute discussion
