- It is with sadness that we announce that on March 26, 2016, ECTS member Professor Silvano Adami passed away at age of 70. He was professor and chair of Rheumatology at the University of Verona, Italy, and Past President of the Italian Society of Osteoporosis and Metabolic Skeletal Disorders. Silvano has largely contributed to the field of calcified tissues with seminal articles focused on pathogenesis, diagnosis and therapy of osteoporosis and other bone diseases. He was involved in major clinical trials on the therapy of osteoporosis. He had an international reputation and inspired clinical researchers worldwide. Those who knew Silvano will join us in remembering his kindness, determination, passion and honesty. The ECTS will miss Silvano, but hopes his work will still inspire the young generation of clinicians.
