2008 award winners announced in Barcelona:
Four 2008 ECTS PhD Studentships were awarded to Marta
Capannolo (University of L’Aquila, Italy),
Dieudonné Francois-Xavier (Hopital
Lariboisière, France), Arlene Gallagher
(Universiteit Utrecht, The Netherlands) and Bram Perdu
(University Wirijk, Belgium). Further

Three 2008 ECTS Postdoctoral Fellowships were awarded to Aline
Bozec (Research Institute of Molecular Pathology
GmbH, Vienna, Austria), Marco Eijken (ErasmusMC
Rotterdam, The Netherlands) and Barbara Peruzzi
(University of L’Aquila, Italy). Further

Two 2008 ECTS Career Establishment Awards were presented to
Dr Frank de Vries from the Universiteit Utrecht,
Netherlands and Dr Julie Crockett from the
University of Aberdeen, UK. Further

The 2008 ECTS/Amgen Fellowship was presented to Dr
Martina Rauner from the Medical University of Vienna,

The ECTS also announced the 2008 winner of the ECTS/Alliance
for Better Bone Health Iain T Boyle Award to Dr
Rutger van Bezooijen from the Leiden University Medical
Center, The Netherlands. Further

Eastern European Grants
Three 2008 ECTS Eastern European Research Grants,
in collaboration with the Czech Society for Metabolic Diseases,
were presented on Wednesday 28 May to Bernadett Balla
(Semmelweis University, Hungary), Tanja Celic
(Faculty of Medicine, Rijeka, Croatia) and Jaanika
Kumm (University of Tartu, Estonia). Further
