which will be held at the exciting Glasgow Science Centre.
The Science Centre is a short walk across the river
from the SECC and will provide lots of opportunities
for challenging your scientific brains through hands-on

Postdocs and final year PhD students, who are members of the ECTS, are
invited to join together for an informal social evening which will take
place during the welcome reception at the Glasgow Science Centre. As part
of the continued ECTS mission to assist our New Investigators, this session
is designed to encourage YOUR input into the next ECTS meeting in Athens
2011 and you will have the opportunity to:
- network with your colleagues over a beer (or two!)
- setup an ECTS postdoc team
- organize a dedicated postdoc session at the 2011 Athens meeting -
this can be on a subject identified by you!
REFRESHMENTS WILL BE PROVIDED

ECTS FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT
Monday 28 June
20:00-22:00 - Goals Soccer Centre
You are invited to enter a team of 6 players (1 reserve)
for the ECTS football tournament. Transport will be
provided from the SECC. If you wish to play in the tournament
please check the box on the registration form and enter
your name on the team sheet near the registration desk.
Transport, jerseys, the winners’ cup and refreshments
will be provided. Spectators also welcome!

GLASGOW CITY TOUR

09:00-13:00 - Half day tour
This short introduction to Glasgow will cover a panoramic
tour of the City Centre, including the River Clyde,
the historical Cathedral and Merchant City, the Georgian
grandeur of Blythswood Square, Art Gallery and Museum,
Kelvingrove and Glasgow University Campus. Drive through
the Clyde tunnel to visit the Burrell Collection in
Pollok Country Park with a chance to see the largest
herd of Highland Cattle in Britain.
Included in accompanying persons’ registration
fee.
BRS YOUNG INVESTIGATOR SESSION
Tuesday 29 June
18:45-19:45 – Forth room, SECC
The Bone Research Society (BRS) invites young investigators to attend a short Q&A session to discuss career progression in the UK (both clinical and basic science will be covered). This session will provide a fantastic opportunity for young scientists to discuss their career development in an informal setting; a glass of wine or beer will also be provided. Although this session is primarily aimed at members of the BRS, other young investigators interested in working in the UK are welcome to attend.

CONFERENCE PARTY

The ECTS conference party will be held in the Hilton Glasgow Hotel. The evening will combine elegant surroundings and fine cuisine with a traditional Scottish Ceilidh. It is guaranteed to offer something for everyone and will definitely be an evening to remember!
- Céilidh (pronounced Kaylee) is a traditional Gaelic social dance originating in Ireland and Scotland. Céilidh music is cheerful and lively, provided by an assortment of instruments. Instructions are given on basic dance steps and all are encouraged to join in.
- Food and wine are included
