Mission Statement
Our mission is to promote excellence in research
into the field of calcified tissues within Europe, and to
ensure the findings are disseminated to enable benefit to
patients with bone disease.
Aims of the ECTS:
- To advance scientific knowledge of the structure and
function of calcified tissues and related subjects.
- To promote basic and clinical research in this field
and to publish and disseminate the results of such research.
- To foster a multidisciplinary approach and to stimulate,
through meetings, symposia, study groups, lectures, seminars
and other means, exchange of information and collaboration.
- To act as an authoritative body for the purpose of consultation
in matters of public and professional interest concerning
research in calcified tissues and related subjects in Europe.
The European Calcified Tissue Society is a company limited
by guarantee. The Company does not have shares or shareholders,
but instead it has its members. The day-to-day management
of the Society is carried out by the directors. Profits
that the Company may generate are used to provide research
grants and to subsidise other activities to further
the aims and mission of the ECTS.
The constitution is made up of the memorandum and the articles.

Membership applications are invited from anyone working in
calcified tissues and related fields whether in a clinical
or a research based capacity, from anywhere in the world,
and at whatever stage in your career.
